What we achieved
I redesigned the digital Lamborghini Car Configurator. Starting from information architecture, I worked across concept design, zoning, full UI flows, and component library creation.
The result is a more intuitive, immersive, and premium-feeling platform that supports both customers and dealers, while maintaining perfect integration with Lamborghini’s 3D model technology. View the live project
My role in the journey
UX/UI Designer (under the guidance of a senior designer)
Collaboration with developers to ensure integration with Lamborghini's existing 3D models
Tools: Sketch, Miro, Jira
Where we started
Lamborghini’s car configurator was originally split into two tools:
Standard mode, for customers
Ad Personam, for high-end customization with a specialist at the dealership
This separation made the experience fragmented and less fluid, especially across devices. The goal was to merge both flows into a unified, consistent configurator while keeping the premium tone of the brand.
The process - Phase 1
Information Architecture Redesign
We started by reorganizing the two flows into a unified IA. Options were reorganized by category, and where possible, sub-options were surfaced immediately to reduce navigation steps.
The process - Phase 2
Zoning & Interaction Design
I designed responsive zoning for desktop, tablet, and mobile to match user behavior and use cases. We split the interface into engagement, settings, one-time actions, and deep interaction areas.
The process - Phase 3
Concept Design through Sketching
Based on the zoning structure, I created hand-sketched concepts for the entire car configuration journey, mapping each interaction step across different vehicle models. When configuration flows varied depending on the model, I highlighted and adapted the sketches accordingly to ensure a tailored yet consistent approach.
The process - Phase 4
Component Library Creation
I built a structured UI library to ensure scalability and visual coherence across the product. The library includes foundations such as typography, color palette, icon system, and spacing rules — as well as UI components like cards, toasts, text fields, and navigation elements. Each component was created with states and variants to support flexibility across different flows.
The process - Phase 5
UI Production & Integration
Once the design concepts were approved, I translated them into high-fidelity UI screens for every configuration flow. The UI was fully integrated with Lamborghini’s existing 3D models, and I collaborated closely with the dev team to validate and refine all interactions between the 3D viewer and the interface.
What changed
🔄 Seamless transition between standard and Ad Personam modes
💎 Improved brand perception through premium-feeling UI
📱 Consistent experience across devices
🎯 Stronger alignment between dealer and customer journeys
💬 Positive client feedback and design system now reused for other digital touchpoints
What I learned
Designing for Lamborghini taught me that luxury is not just visual — it's about how the experience feels. Merging complexity with elegance, and allowing for deep customization while keeping the interface intuitive, was the real challenge. This was my first major end-to-end project, and it solidified my passion for product design that blends storytelling, precision, and tech. View the live project
